Feed the flesh of the face Drink the light before it’s gone Oh but I like these rules They have suited me just fine The good side Board a plane to Ho Chi Min Count the days until I can make something worthwhile again Haven’t found a place for all the faces from the last song The moon has grown a dozen times since then And who are you in someone else’s land? They danced children in front of my cold hand I can’t remember the last time I cried over pain that wasn’t mine

Weak Knees 02:43
I'm bored, let's breed, seriously This cardy’s a pullover Concede and lay bets on concessions ahead Golden days of sunsets and weak knees But don't listen to the voice inside your head Don't listen to the ghosts under your bed We're all sleeping on graves  On bones and nitrates We're all waiting for someone To fill the days
I woke into confusion about when Timelines stretching out and back again And I couldn't know just when it was I'd woke into Were years ahead or had they gone and left us with weak knees? But don't listen to the voice inside your head Don't listen to the ghosts under your bed We're all sleeping on graves  On bones and nitrates We're all waiting for someone To fill the days I’ll fold my hand, call it a day, bow out And lay my head down for the night At least I’ve got you, my love You always make the bitter a bit bittersweet
3.
Take my peace Take it all and keep it Use it when you need it I’d give it if I could Let it chase away The things that dark your days And let the sad in I hear your faith deflate beneath Heavy things that mean nothing Just close your ears and turn away Everything will burn one day When the sun hits the sky Like a gun in a knife fight When the world comes alive Like magnesium on fire Wait for me, wait for me Breathe out and breathe back in Wait for me, wait for me Good things are coming Sorry for the words It was winter when they grew nails In a ton of rooms Stacked on other rooms for days Night creeping in at 4pm First today then tomorrow again Well it gets so old it’s true And we’re getting tired, I feel it too. Let’s burn everything
4.
Rain Rain 03:12
Rain rain, rain rain Don’t go away Rain rain, rain rain These hills are yours, my bed, my safe Beat the roof overhead The toil of my father’s sweat Lull me into child’s sleep To dream of things I don’t know yet Rain rain, rain rain Don’t go away Rain rain, rain rain These streets are yours, my breath, my grave Fill the air around alone And wash away what’s said and done Take me to the sea And cleanse my soul of the dust of the city
5.
Slip Away 05:03
Close your weary eyes and shut your mind Let the things that used to drive your days Float out into the night Visit other places, other times Let yourself seep through the skin  That you’ve been stuck in all your life We won’t survive death from the sky God save our souls God give us light
Was it everything that you were expecting? Did you get to be some your dreams? Release all your fear Nothing matters now that we are here. Slip away, slip away my darling God save our souls, god give us light
One final breath for everything A final bow, a curtain call Dropped the ball but we played the game Hurts so bad, just hold my hand One last touch, you’re everything We shared a life, now slip away with me And a love for the world
6.
Hold your head up The light is fading And all the heat is rising Can you feel it coming? When the city hauls its bones Into the night’s shadows And dark mingles with heat Like old friends telling old stories Watching the sweat on my skin Beading slow, a fault in this machine Well it could be the 40 ounce I downed But it feels like now is being played out by someone else Shooting blanks into a barrel Throwing dice across the table There’re gold rings on your fingers And serpents in your eyes I recommend you spend an evening Just pretending to be watering All the fake plants in the building While you’re waiting for that that something That’s too late, it’s far too late We’ve faked all there is to fake With pointed tooth and painted faith We’ve built cathedrals out of paper planes Hold your hands up Can you see the days delineate? Lines for the times You’ve succeeded and failed If the devil drinks alone I’ll be drinking for one Watching the sweat on my skin Beading slow, a fault in this machine Well it could be the 40 ounce I downed But it feels like now is being played out by someone else Treading water at the border Of sleep and disorder There’s glass all in your fingers And blood all down your thighs I recommend you spend an evening Just pretending to be watering All the fake plants in the building While you’re waiting for that something That’s too late, it’s far too late We’ve faked all there is to fake With pointed tooth and painted faith Just line up and buy a ticket for that train
7.
Early Train 02:53
I’ve been a long way down Into the shale and back again My friend, I’ve fallen But you’re the whole way down You’ll never feel the light again You’re packed and waiting To take the early train Wait a day The sun will come again And warm the land Wait a day Oh what a feeling, a warm hand You’ll want to feel this again And miss the early train
8.
Memory 03:01
Memory sneaking out the back door I'll gently smash bottles into your skull Let it be, let hours drip from the walls Let them pool on the floor, let them see what I saw I got it all wrong Tell me it's ok to measure things by what could have been Time is crashing, cracking, it'll break us all to pieces I can feel it Rushing away Memory sleeping by the back door I'll gently hold what I have left of you all Collect and keep the hours that drip from the walls Who dares to waste one when you're always stuck in this particular one Memory
9.
These Days 02:53
Just smile your smile And say the things that you say All I want, all I need Is to be around you these days Hide away Just you and me, the things we’ve saved We’ll lock the doors Just these four walls and cyberspace We’ll assimilate Absorb each other till we’re just A single face So smile your smile And say the things that you say All I want, all I need Is to be around you these days You’re all I need these days

about

The first full length album by me, Leah, made in my apartment in Berlin.

I used to play guitar in a metal band. We started out as kids in New Zealand, then moved to Europe, focussing mainly on touring. After years on the road I got sick of vans and bars and random floors and settled in Berlin, Germany. I didn't know what to do - playing in bands was my life. So I began building myself a little home studio and started watching Youtube tutorials.

It has taken me a couple of years hunkered down on my little nerd station, but I'm getting there as a "full-stack musician". This is the first full length album I've made from start to finish (excluding mastering - that's still a bit beyond me!). It's all my lost and all my love laid out in hertz and decibels, and it has been my sense of purpose through a time adrift.
